Original Source: 《陳氏太極拳圖說》 (*Chen Shi Taijiquan Tushuo* / *Trần Thị Thái Cực Quyền Đồ Thuyết*), written by 8th-generation Chen master **Trần Hâm (Chen Xin, 1849–1929)**, first woodblock print 1933. This three-panel composition forms the core theoretical foundation for internal command transmission, circular whole-body harmony, and single-leg anatomical rooting.

Mind & Intent Transmitting Orders

將軍心 Heart General 意傳令 丹田 Dantian 如兵馬屯處 (Army Encampment) 全體之氣歸宿處 (Qi Reservoir) 陰會 (Huiyin) 拿 (Na / Seize) 清氣上升 (Pure Qi Up) 李/挒 (Roll/Split) 清氣上升 (Pure Qi Up) 右足 (Right Foot) 濁氣下降 (Turbid Qi Down) 左足 (Left Foot) 濁氣下降 (Turbid Qi Down)

Core Principle: The Mind is Commander-in-Chief. Intent (意) issues orders directly down the central axis to Dantian.

Pure Qi Ascends: Light energetic Qi flows upward to arms and fingertips for combat application (*Lu*, *Na*).

Turbid Qi Descends: Heavy ground Qi sinks to the soles to anchor the root (*Rooting*).

The Body as a Taiji Sphere

Baihui (百會) 丹田 周身為一太極 "The Whole Body is One Taiji" 靜則無極 Stillness = Wuji 動則太極 Motion = Taiji 氣沉丹田 · 渾然一體 Qi Sinks to Dantian · Integrated Whole

Spherical Harmony: The human frame in upright stance operates as an enclosed, self-balancing Taiji sphere without leaks or gaps.

Vertical Suspension: The crown (*Baihui*) feels suspended from above like a thread, naturally aligning the Ren and Du vessels.

Center of Mass: All bodily forces radiate outward from and collapse back into the Lower Dantian center.

Posture & Anatomical Rules

頂精領住 (Head Suspended) 耳聽身後 (Ears Hear Behind) 眼看右脚 (Eyes on Right Foot) 左肘屈住 (Left Elbow Bent) 肩鬆下 (Shoulders Sunk) 右肱伸開 (Right Arm Open) 左右掌朝下 (Palms Down) 腰剉下去 (Waist Sinks) 左腿彎不可軟 (Left Leg Firm) 右脚與腿平 (Right Foot Level) 左膝屈二三分 (Knee Bent 20%) 左足週身力量當 (100% Rooted)

Single-Leg Stability: Chen Xin details 12 strict anatomical imperatives for standing on one leg (*Golden Rooster* / *White Crane*).

Rooting (Tả túc đương lực): The supporting leg bears 100% of body weight with knee bent slightly (20–30%), preventing joint collapse.

Omnidirectional Awareness: Eyes focus forward-down while ears actively listen backwards (*Nhĩ thính thân hậu*).
